Charlie Harris
Charlie Harris is a researcher and writer at the University of Oxford’s Global History of Capitalism Project. He has produced work for Universitat Ramon Llull in Barcelona, Spain, and for the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. Charlie's specialist topics are informal markets, regulation, and American drug policy, though he also occasionally works on Cantonese pirate history and the gold routes of medieval Mali. He is currently working on a business history of surfing in Hawaii for an Oxford edited collection, as well as researching and writing Mendo: History of an American Narcostate, inspired by his time working as a marijuana farmer in Northern California.
